So we are 1 month into 2012 and all of the awesome New Year’s Resolutions that have been made. The question is; are you still on track? If you have fallen off the Resolution train how are you going to get yourself back on?
It’s normal in life to have some moments where you are de-motivated or feel “down in the dumps” but the question is; how do you get yourself out of that slump?
There are many ways to get yourself motivated and there is no wrong way. As long as you jump back on the bandwagon and get to it!
1.) Remind yourself of the reason(s) why you are doing what you are doing. Either you are the sole dependent for your family, you want/need to get healthy, whatever the reason – Remind yourself.
2.) Read motivation quotes or stories online. In our office at Total Debt Freedom we have Motivational Quotes written all over the walls that our Tribe has found and wanted to share with everyone.
3.) Keep a journal or have pictures on your Smartphone. When you need a little boost, read your journal entry of something you did or saw or look through your pictures on your Smartphone to remind yourself and give yourself a smile
4.) Reward yourself. Every day is one step closer to achieving that dream or goal. When you have a big day with lots of progress: Celebrate!
5.) Write down what motivates you and put it somewhere you can see it daily. “If it’s not in writing, it does not exist” is something that we live by at Total Debt Freedom. We have our Core Values written and on everyone’s desk, our Painted Picture is written and hanging on the wall. These are daily reminders of what we do, day in and day out to keep us focused and motivated.
