I have to say that this is one of my favourite times of year! I love everything about it, the costumes, the parties, the movies, and of course the CANDY! It’s HALLOWEEN! A night where ghosts and goblins invade your home for treats. If you can’t tell I get more excited than my own kids.
But for parents out there, don’t worry I have put together some great tips to cut costs on the many things that make Halloween great! First is don’t buy the costume in September when they first start going on the shelves. They are marked up like crazy, and chances are your child will change their mind anyway. The best time to buy is the two day clearance sale before the 31st. I got my daughter’s costume for $19.99 reduced from $69.99. It is also the best time to buy the candy as well!
Another thing you may want to consider is where you buy your pumpkins. Try to avoid the major retailers and grocery stores. We have found the best pumpkins at the pumpkin patch or road side in the country only costing on average 3 dollars per pumpkin (extra large by the way)
Finally, if you are the type of person to decorate your home my advice is to plan ahead. Purchase your decorations or lighting the year before. Plan it out and buy it cheap! Keep in mind this does not have to be an expensive day, but it has to be fun!
See you out there!
