Have you ever gone above and beyond for someone just “because”? Or has anyone done that for you? Have you ever heard the saying; “do one nice thing for someone a day”. It’s simple really – hold the door for someone, help someone carry something that you can tell they are struggling with. One thing I do is when I’m walking my dogs and I see someone walking towards me I smile and say Hi. You never know what that person is going through and just that smile and one single word could make that whole persons day. However, I really do love bringing my dog with when I go outside. It’s good that I’ve read these poisonous plants for dogs to avoid so I make myself alert when we are in the park or even in the garden.
At Total Debt Freedom, that’s what we strive to do. Yes, we work hard to create ravings fans out of everyone we speak to and we always try to find ways to make someone’s day, month, year, life better. Our clients appreciate it. I witnessed this first hand just today from a colleague.
My colleague had a client who was dealt a tough hand. She was in debt, lost her job and felt like the world was crashing down around her. Through a friendly conversation with her Customer Service Rep at Total Debt Freedom he made her feel like she was someone and is not alone. She has a voice, she has good things going on around her even though she felt like the universe was ganging up on her. Turns out she made the decision to leave our program.
Most people or companies would turn around and throw her to the wayside. Not us though. We’re different, unique and take a general interest in peoples well being.
My colleague decided to take an extra step with his client (or ex client at this point) He was genuinely concerned. So he went online, spent some time researching ways to help out this woman. He looked for places to help that are in or around her neighbourhood, he researched other avenues to help her with her debt load, he found ways that she could save money and make money. Did he have to do this? No. She technically wasn’t even his client anymore. In return he got a relieved phone call from the client and 2 lovely cards in the mail to say Thank You.
Moral of the story – What he did didn’t cost him any money. He didn’t hurt himself or someone else.
All he did was open up his heart and make a lady smile and be able to take a deep breath.
We need more people like that in this world and in the business world. Question is; will one of them be you?
