Valentine’s Day is approaching and I am writing this blog for 2 reasons. 1.) to remind some people that it is around the corner and to start planning now before you forget! And 2.) to give 5 low-cost ideas for you and the one(s) you love.
Here are some ideas on what you can do this Valentine’s Day.
1.) Go to your local dollar store and buy a little Valentines box. Go home and write on little pieces of paper things you love about your partner or things you want to say to them. (Total gift price about $2!)
2.) Create an indoor romantic picnic. Pick a room in the house and setup a picnic complete with blanket on the floor, candle, paper plates, utensils, plastic wine glasses, etc. Don’t forget picnic food – sandwiches, cheese tray, crackers, maybe some chocolate dipped strawberries? (Total gift price can vary – $20 – $50)
3.) Find a nice nature walk in your area. Bundle up and go for a romantic stroll for the sunset or moonlight. (Total gift price – $0!)
4.) Prepare a Scavenger Hunt. Start first thing in the morning with a clue that leads to another clue with a time. Put clues in their lunch bag, wallet, purse, glove compartment, pillow case and end the last clue with a gift or dinner or simply a cuddle on the couch. (Total gift price can vary $5 – $50)
5.) Go to your local Dollar store and buy 2 Valentine inspired Champagne Flutes. Buy some wine or champagne and toast to your relationship and tell each other what you love about each other. Make sure to put the flutes somewhere visible to always remind each other of your love. Start a tradition that every year you use those flutes, have wine or champagne and tell each other what you love about each other. (Total gift price – $20 to $30) If you want to spice things up in the bedroom with your partner, you can check out this ultimate guide to panty vibrators.
Just because money may be tight doesn’t mean you can’t sweep someone off their feet with incredible gestures.
If you don’t have a significant other – that’s ok too! Make someone you come across smile. Tell a friend how much their friendship means to you, tell a colleague what a great job they are doing and go out to lunch. You just have to be a little creative and put your heart into whatever you are planning.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
