With social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, BBM and Blogging it is easy for us to stay connected with what is going on in the world.
Recently two athletes were ejected from the 2012 Olympics for some comments made to other countries athletes. Other competitors were also told to only tweet about the sponsors that paid for the Olympic travel, not the personal ones they have back home.
I can understand that we want to stay connected and use these media outlets to voice opinions, but what happened to “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all?” Keep in mind folks, these outlets are seen by millions you’re not just speaking to one person over the phone anymore. Your opinion is seen by the world. It is great to have free speech and speak aloud but if we keep up with this kind of use it will be policed.
How would you like to be told what to say, when to say it and how to say it? Remember think before we write! There are millions of eyes on us!
