Last weekend I went out for dinner with my family we didn’t want to do anything to fancy so we decided to go to a local pub. We were greeted at the door and taken to our table. The hostess told us our waitress would be with us shortly.
After only about 5 minutes our waitress came and of course asked to start us off with some drinks. She went around the table taking all of our drink orders. She came back quickly with our drinks and asked if we were ready to order our meals. At this time we were, she went around the table taking all our meal orders. My brother and I are very picky when it comes to food so it was no surprise that we ordered the same thing.
As our meals were ready and being brought to our table the waitress handed me this plate of something that was not my order, I looked at it and asked her what it was as I had ordered chicken fingers and she was passing me a wrap. I noticed that my brother also received the same wrap that I did. The waitress immediately recognized her mistake and took the plates back to rectify her mistake.
At this point everyone else now had their meals and my brother and I were still waiting. After a few more minutes the waitress came back with the correct order and apologized for her mistake, she also said she would like to buy us a drink to make up for the error . We were drinking beer, so we were like sure we’ll have another. She came over with 2 beers for us and when we got the bill sure enough we were not charge for those extra drinks.
I love to see things like this, taking accountability for a mistake made and the ownership to fix the problem. This waitress dropped the ball and reacted quickly. Our team is very much like this waitress, they take the accountability when a mistake is made and then the best steps to make it right.
