As I try to understand what our clients go through with settling their debts and the struggles that it takes, I look back to my own personal journey of losing weight and can see a lot of similarities. I, like many of us, have been trying to lose weight for years with no success. Much like people struggling with their minimum payments, there seems like nothing will work and they will never get ahead.
I finally started to cut back on a few things, breads/carbs, salt, fatty foods and finally started to see some progress. My clothes started to fit better, I was sleeping better and I was really concentrating on reaching my goals. I think our clients are doing the exact same thing; cutting back on overspending, unnecessary impulse shopping and really concentrating on their budget to reach their own goals of becoming debt free. For me, I have been doing this for about 2 ½ months and have lost a total of 26lbs just with diet alone. I also try to inspire others around me to be more health conscious and encourage cooking more at home rather than eating out for majority of your meals as nothing is healthier than your own cooking.
I would like to think that our clients that have experienced their own results with reducing their debts would also encourage others to do the same as , let’s be honest, everyone is in debt one way or another. This has been a life change for me and I have no plans of looking back to the high fat, over salted, deep fried world that I have now left behind and I am truly grateful for those who have supported me throughout this really tough time in my life. I can only try to be supportive to the people who reach out for our help with their never ending debt load as I can relate on a different level. Changing my habits was the best decision I had ever made and I honestly believe our clients feel the same way.
