A couple of weeks ago i was watching a television program about Canadas Worst Customer Service. Although the show was about department stores it really got me thinking.
What got me thinking even more was the fact that majority of Canadians are not willing to speak up and speak their minds if they are dissatisfied.
We’ve all heard that Canadians are the most polite in the world. We are. And we are proud of it. But why are we so afraid to discuss what upsets or frustrates us?
I work hard for my money and if I am spending my money on a product or a service I want to be happy with my purchase.
If we are too frightened to address our concerns with a manager or service provider, how can we ever expect them to make positive changes. “Complaints” are not necessarily a bad thing – majority of the time it is how you receive it and decide to do with the information given to you.
With that I challenge you. The next time you are unhappy with a product, dish, service, speak up about it. You might get a welcome response and may have saved another Canadian in becoming upset or frustrated too.
There is nothing wrong with a little constructive criticism.
