4. Training & Education
Your typical work week is 45 hours. Of this time, 40 hours is spent on production and we allow you to spend 5 hours a week on personal development. For some that might be learning a new skill for others it might be stepping out to the gym mid-day for a workout. You decide but you will get access to a library of coaching and training material plus mentorship from senior employees.
We have never taken a drop of investment and so we have no investors to tell us what to do or to pull the plug on us. We’re a private, self-funded company and remain profitable. We started with an initial investment of $5,000 from our founder and CEO Richard Cooper and his 90 sq/ft dining room in January 2005 and have grown rapidly since.
We put the word “Fun” in “Business Fundamentals”. Don’t get us wrong here—we’re a disciplined, well-oiled machine that grows. But we believe that business can be fun and people should look forward to going to work each day. So we create a work environment that is designed to make your tasks, your team mates and even company meetings, a ton of fun.
7. Giving Back
Many of our employees have spent significant time volunteering or working for non-profits. We started this business to change the way people resolve debt. Money came as a natural by-product. As a result, we will devote our time and attention to causes that may not bring in short term profits, but may result in positive social change. In our spare time Total Debt Freedom tribe members volunteer their time to charitable causes.

Much of the work we do is on the cutting edge of consumer debt relief. We didn’t experience over 1,100% growth over the last 5 years because we are a boring cookie cutter company awash in red tape. So we hire people based on their ability to think, to grow, and to strive to be the best.
We hire telephone debt consultants, customer service reps, debt negotiators, Internet marketers, writers, bloggers, and many others. Your education isn’t important. Your life story, personal accomplishments, personality, skills and goals are what we really look for.

Note: Please don’t worry about over-doing your video cover letter—the best cover letters we’ve seen were around 5 minutes. You don’t need special effects or any form of video editing (unless you choose to).

- You are adept at listening and hearing people’s problems so you can present a reasonable solution – Even if it isn’t ours.
- You genuinely care about people first but still love the by-product of money.
- You think being debt free is the best thing since sliced bread.
We are looking for someone who lives and breathes phone sales. 95% of what we do is on the phone, another 5% is in person. If you like to actively listen and are capable of delivering results we think you would thrive in our environment.
Bilingual (English/French) Customer Service Representative
- You enjoy people, and are a natural on the phone
- Enjoyed psychology and communication classes during your studies
- You think in an innovative manner
- Technology is your friend
- You have a minimum of two years of customer service experience
